  • On June 19, 1901, Charles Warner Pierce graduated from Armour Institute of Technology and became the first African American chemical engineering graduate in the United States.

  • Early Armour College Faculty member Lee de Forest is known as the “father of the radio” and has both an Oscar and a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
