Department Chair Search
The Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) invites applications and nominations for the position of Chair of the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering (CAEE). The department is seeking an accomplished leader with a clear strategic vision, an outstanding record of research and educational achievements, and excellent communication and administrative skills. Candidates are expected to have earned a doctorate in civil, architectural, or environmental engineering and to merit appointment at the rank of Full Professor.
The CAEE Department has approximately 500 students (273 undergraduate and 218 graduate) and 12 full-time faculty members. ABET-accredited bachelor’s degrees are offered in Civil and Architectural Engineering; master’s degrees are offered in Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering; and doctoral degrees are offered in Civil and Environmental Engineering. The department has significant research programs in structural, architectural, environmental, transportation, and construction engineering. IIT is a private Ph.D.-granting research university, with world-renowned programs in engineering, architecture, the sciences, humanities, psychology, business, law, and design. IIT’s Armour College of Engineering emphasizes inter-professional research by faculty and students and is committed to excellence in undergraduate, graduate, and professional education. The main campus is located three miles from downtown Chicago.
