IPRO

This summer’s Interprofessional Project (IPRO) Program course culminated in IPRO Day with five teams involving more than 60 students from multiple disciplines. The team selected as the overall highest performing team for summer 2017 was guided by Mahesh Krishnamurthy, Associate Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering. The team was awarded $1,000 for their efforts.

An Interprofessional Projects Program (IPRO) project led by Rowe Family Chair Professor in Sustainable Energy and Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, Leon Shaw, won two awards at Illinois Institute of Technology IPRO Day on April 21st, 2017. The project, "Fabrication and Commercialization of High Power Li-ion Batteries" was named the recipient of the Engineering Dean's Choice Award and winner of IPRO Track 9.

Three IPRO projects, led by Armour College of Engineering faculty and students earned top honors at the Fall 2015 IPRO Day. During the event, 115 student teams exhibited their semester-long work in Hermann Hall. A distinguished panel consisting of industry professionals, faculty and graduate students judged the projects for quality.

Students participating in the Interprofessional Projects (IPRO) Program recognized the end of the semester by exhibiting the projects they have been dutifully working to complete. The event was the largest IPRO Day in IIT history with over 120 different student teams participating.

The Undergraduate Research Journal at IIT (URJiit) is currently accepting submissions for its next issue. URJiit is a journal that publishes undergraduate research on thought provoking and experience-based submissions from all disciplines at IIT, Shimer, and VanderCook. The journal provides the platform for undergraduate findings to be peer reviewed and showcased among the academic community.
