Armour College of Engineering undergraduate students and their faculty mentors have been awarded Fall 2017 Armour R&D Fellowships. The program, an Armour College of Engineering Distinctive Education initiative, offers undergraduate engineering students the opportunity to gain hands-on research and development experience in the lab of a faculty mentor.

Bora Jang (Ph.D. Student CE) was named the recipient of the John Fisher Student Award for best student paper at the Ninth New York City Bridge Conference held from August 21-23, 2017. She was honored for her paper “Bridge Rating Modification to Incorporate Potential Fatigue Damage from Truck Overloads.”

Three female engineering undergraduate students were honored at the 2017 Chicago Area Undergraduate Research Symposium (CAURS) for poster presentations detailing the results of their research. The Symposium is one of the largest annual undergraduate research conferences in the country, bringing together hundreds of undergraduate students in the greater Chicago area from all academic disciplines to present their research.
