Engineering students seeking a hands-on, leading-edge summer research experience are invited to apply to the Armour R&D Summer Research Immersion program in the global city of Chicago. This unique, competitive program offers a diverse range of engineering research projects with faculty mentors across all engineering disciplines.
The Armour R&D Summer Research Immersion Program includes weekly seminars, field trips, and a culminating Expo in which students present their research findings to engineering faculty and industry representatives from Chicago area companies. This exciting program is 20 hours a week for eight weeks, from May 22 to July 14. Limited scholarships are available. Students selected to participate will register for ENGR 498/499 and earn three engineering credits upon successful completion of the research program. Information on fees can be found here.
Visiting students should search for available research opportunities. After you find an opportunity that suits your interests, you may apply here. You will first sign up to for Illinois Tech's online application system. Once inside, select start a new research opportunities application. From there select your student level, citizenship status, and Research Summer 2017 - A from the drop-down list. You will then click start your application and finish filling out your personal information as well as selecting the research opportunity you are interested in.
Add-on Courses– You can make wise use of your time at Illinois Tech by enrolling in additional engineering courses instructed by our world-class faculty that may be transferable to your home institutions. Explore those courses here.
Current Armour College of Engineering students can search for research opportunities that interest them. When you are ready to register, login to my.iit.edu and follow the standard procedure to register for courses. Make sure you select Summer 2017 as the term and search for courses under the subject General Engineering. Students should check with their department to determine if the Armour R&D Summer Research Immersion Program can be applied as an engineering elective.
