Armour R&D Research Immersion Opportunities

ENGR 498 - UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH IMMERSION - TEAM  (PERMIT ONLY)

This course provides a faculty-mentored immersive research experience as a part of a student team. Research topics are determined by a faculty mentor’s area of research and work will be conducted in discipline-specific and/or computer laboratories. A student team will engage in research for a minimum of eight weeks, 20 hours/week, Pass/Fail. Students are required to submit their findings in a publication style research paper, present their findings orally, and attend research-oriented seminars during the summer experience. Students will be matched with faculty mentors according to their area of engineering study and personal research interest.

ENGR 499 - UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH IMMERSION - INDIVIDUAL  (PERMIT ONLY)

This course provides a faculty-mentored immersive research experience. Students will be assigned individual research projects working along with graduate students, postdoctoral scientists, and other researchers as  member of one of the IIT's research laboratories directed by IIT's engineering faculty. Research topics are determined by a faculty mentor’s area of research. Students will engage in individual research projects for a minimum of eight weeks, 20 hours/week, Pass/Fail. Students are required to submit their findings in a publication style research paper, present their findings orally, and attend research-oriented seminars during the summer experience. Students will be matched with faculty mentors according to their area of engineering study and personal research interest.
