TEACHING INTERESTS AND EXPERIENCE

Dr. Zalc is passionate about undergraduate education and the professional growth of new chemical engineers. He has had the pleasure of working with the outstanding students at Illinois Tech since 2015 and teaches upper-level courses on chemical plant design and chemical process simulation.

His background includes nearly 15 years in BP's Refining Technology & Engineering group, where he is employed as a principal engineer. His work involves the development and implementation of detailed refining process models to support process monitoring, troubleshooting, optimization, feedstock selection, and capital investment decisions.
