Driverless City

Lili Du, Assistant Professor of Transportation Engineering at Armour College of Engineering, was mentioned in a Chicago Tribune article about how driverless cars will shape the cities of the future. Du and colleagues from the Illinois Tech Institute of Design and College of Architecture wrote a book, The Driverless City, describing their imagined city of the future brought about by atonomous vehichles. The team was named a finalist in the Nayar Prize at Illinois Tech.


Lili Du, Assistant Professor of Transportation Engineering in Armour College of Engineering's Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering Department, recently spoke to ChicagoInno about the affect driverless cars will will have on city planning in the future. Du, an expert in transportation engineering, is a member of a team of architects and engineers working on "The Driverless City" project, a phase one finalist for the Nayar Prize at Illinois Institute of Technology.
