Nayar Family Foundation

The Data-Driven Crime Prevention Program and Microfluidic Drug Microbiota Interaction Platform teams have been selected as the finalists that will advance to the second phase of the Nayar Prize II competition. Each team will be credited with $100,000 over the next year, at which time the jury will determine which team will advance to the final round of funding.

Illinois Institute of Technology has announced the expansion of the Nayar Prize competition with the creation of a second competition, the Nayar Prize II, designed to continue to encourage the development of breakthrough innovations with a societal impact. The first Nayar Prize, introduced in 2015, is currently in Phase 1 of the competition.

Dennis Roberson, vice provost of research, today announced an exciting opportunity being offered to Illinois Institute of Technology faculty, staff, and students by trustee Madhavan Nayar (M.S. IE ’68) and his wife, Teresa, on behalf of the Nayar Family Foundation. A $1 million prize package has been established to encourage and challenge members of the Illinois Institute of Technology community to develop breakthrough, innovative projects that will, within three years, produce meaningful results with a societal impact.
