Scholarship

Brandon Simons (ECE, 4th year) was recently awarded one of six environmental engineering scholarships from Brown and Caldwell, a leading environmental engineering and construction firm with several office across the midwest. Simons will receive $5,000 to use towards his tuition. Scholarship recipients are selected by a committee of Brown and Caldwell professionals on the basis of their academic accomplishments.

Co-Terminal Student Anne Crotteau (CE ‘16, M.A.S. ENVE ‘16) was recently awarded the General Engineering Scholarship from the Salt Creek Chapter of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers. The $1000 scholarship will be applied to the 2015-2016 academic year.

Breanne Stromberg (CE, 5th year) was recently awarded the Structures Functional Group Member Emeritus Scholarship - In memory of Bill Byers from the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA). The award is given to an exceptional undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in structural engineering.

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) and its members recognize the importance of investing in students as the future of the water industry. For the 2015-16 academic year AWWA will be offering 16 scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students. Funding ranges from $5,000 to $30,000 annually.

The Chicago Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) is offering scholarships to full-time students currently enrolled in an accredited engineering/engineering technology curriculum. The Chapter will sponsor a maximum of $1000 per semester for each scholarship. Additional money from corporate sponsors may also be available. The following three scholarships are available:

Enbridge Energy Company, Inc. has established a merit-based scholarship to help third- and fourth-year IIT students majoring in engineering who demonstrate an interest in the energy industry. Enbridge, which is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, transports energy and operates the world’s longest, most sophisticated crude oil and liquids transportation system.
