Dean Natacha DePaola spoke at the Rotary Club of Chicago Panel Discussion this past Tuesday, February 20, 2018, on the importance of STEM Education to the Chicago Area Economy as part of the Engineering Week celebration. The event's keynote speaker was U.S. Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08). Also on the panel were Fred Hoch, Executive Chairman of the Illinois Technology Association and founder of TechNexus for the, and John Yonan, Superintendent, Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways.

Armour College of Engineering was delighted to host Jill S. Tietjen, electrical engineer of over 35 years, President of the Board of the National Women’s Hall of Fame, CEO of Technically Speaking, and Inductee of the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame this past Monday, November 17. Tietjen shared her lecture, Halls of History, Horizons of Leadership: Women Engineering the Future, to students who attended from all Colleges at IIT.

In celebration of National Engineers Week (Feb. 16-22, 2014) Illinois Institute of Technology’s Rice Campus was transformed into a hive of activity for the young mind. E-Week began in 1951 as a way to call attention to the contributions to society that engineers make. It is also a time for engineers to emphasize the importance of STEM education for young minds.
