Master of Biomedical Engineering

The objective of this degree program is to prepare students for professional practice in any field of engineering involving biological processes, and to provide a foundation in the fundamental knowledge of biological engineering. The student must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0/4.0 in the core areas. Candidates are required to take a total of 30 credit hours: nine credit hours of core courses, seven credit hours of required biology courses, three credit hours of a required professional course, and 11 credit hours of electives.

General course requirements include

BME 500 – Written & oral communication for BME
BME 553 – Quantitative Human Physiology
BME 533 – Statistics for Biomedical Engineers (or equivalent)

2 Life Science and/or Advanced Mathematics Courses

5 Engineering/Computer Science courses (of which at least 2 of these must be BME courses)

Admission Criteria

Candidates should have prior technical coursework that will provide proficiency in areas that are relevant to the field of biomedical engineering.
